We use WI Common Career Technical standards to offer a credited high school course in the form of a student-led repair workshop. Students examine, diagnose, troubleshoot and repair Chromebook devices Monday through Wednesday. Thursdays they explore trends and topics in emerging technologies and social issues related to technology use. Fridays they spend time working on their 20% time projects. The students helped create the workshop mission statement, define our customer service standards and develop a workflow for repairs. This year, nine students manage the fleet of about 1500 student Chromebooks for the entire high school. This course is uniquely offered and run through the high school Library Media program and the Technology department.

In this session, we will share how we got started, some tips and tricks for completing repairs, and some ideas on creating a good workflow and positive environment for repairs. Our students naturally collaborate with each other on repairs and develop the grit to see troubleshooting and repairs all the way through.
