The Spring Midwest Summit is a two-day, hands-on conference focusing on integrating Google for Education in K-12 and Higher Ed learning environments. All presentations will be from Google for Education Certified Innovators and Certified Trainers, and local Googley talent!

Dr. Henry (Hank) Thiele is the Superintendent for Community High School District 99 in Downers Grove Illinois where he serves 5000 high school students and 700 staff members. Prior to that role he served as Assistant Superintendent for Technology and Learning in the Maine 207 Schools in Park Ridge, IL. Hank started out as a high school science and music teacher and as a building technology coordinator. Hank has been a featured presenter at conferences such as T+L, ASCD, METC, IETC, ISTE, ICE, for corporations such as Google, Hapara, CDW, Follett, and for many government agencies in Illinois. He is one of the co-founders of the Illinois Google EDU K-12 user group and the Google Educator Group Chicagoland, and has supported many schools in Illinois as they transition to Google Apps for Education. He also provides leadership across Illinois in technology, learning, and professional learning and has served as the Illinois Computing Education Conference Committee as Co-Chair and as the President of Special Education and Technology (SET) Connections. Hank is a Google Certified Educator, Trainer, Innovator, and Administrator and has also taught for the Google Teacher Academy. His doctoral research was some of the first work investigating “Web 2.0” and its impact on communication, learning, and efficacy in the classroom. His favorite work comes from being a dad of two amazing kids.
